2005 is without a doubt Alex Lely's most succesfull year. Not only did he win an Eurotour event, he also did very well in the 2005 European Pool Championships. He crowned himself Champion in both the 8-ball and 9-ball division and claimed two bronze medals as well in Straight Pool and the Team tournament.
